Curriculum Leadership and the Principalship
Patricia Klinck is part of a research team that completed this study in 1992.
It investigates the role of educational administrators in developing and delivering a curriculum
to students and is posted here because of the renewed interest in these matters.

This report was done to assist leaders with the merger of two very different departments.
It includes a cultural audit and is based on the work of Lincoln and Guba "Fourth
Generation Evaluation" methodology.

A Retrofit of School Improvement Planning: Looking to the Future
As we approach the third millennium, educators are questioning the capacity of the site-based management movement
(SBM) to create and sustain a culture of quality learning outcomes for students. Predicated on the belief that the
quality of education is largely determined by what happens at the school site, SBM articulates a set of key
conditions one of which is the involvement of teachers in school improvement planning, goal setting and continuous
improvement.

"A New Kind of Pencil"
The primary focus of the policy was the integration of learning and technology and was a response to the challenge
from the Minister of Education "how does technology influence student learning?" It soon became apparent that no one
could address how students viewed the question - either in the District or in the emerging literature.
